Beauty Secrets For The Struggling First Time Mama

Having kids age you. It sucks. You don’t drink enough water, although you drink enough coffee ;) that contains water! When do you EVER have the time for a face mask or painting your nails, and or any other self care takes a major back burner so that you can make sure your children have the best. Its real life & is one of the reasons, I think, why so many women lose themselves & "give up". WE ARE JUST TOO DANG TIRED! But, I am a huge advocate for loving yourself. Although the last month I have NOT loved myself. In fact, I took a hiatus if you may have notices & tried to love myself but mastitis hit me like a ton of bricks & then the on & off feeling awful!

Well, now I am back!
After having Lucas, I struggled with this a lot.. Loving myself that is. I still do! My body surprisingly bounced back quickly, but my self care, self loving time went right to the grave... I just couldn’t get my stuff together to organize time, well, for myself. I still find it hard.Beauty hacks were my new favorite thing to google between Lucas's naps & my pumping schedule. My want was how to achieve that fresh face celeb look without botox & having to spend hours(100% being dramatic) putting on makeup. A few things I was doing before..

If money grew on trees I would have my brows micro-bladed so I wouldn't have to shade them in, I would have my lash extensions put back on & have my monthly laser treatments on my acne scaring like I did the year prior to getting pregnant. However, having a baby ALL THAT changes. Here are a couple of my little secrets to have that 5 minute fresh faced make-up look.
1. Cleansing wipes for your face, not make up remover wipes. Just cleansing wipes! When you think about washing your face.. That's about as far as you get until your brain moves onto something baby related. I have made it a priority to have a back of cleaning clothes at my bedside so when I wake up in the morning I wipe my face down & go get my son up & at it. I also use these before bed. Im not saying make this your new routine to clean your face but it sure helps when you don't feel you have the time.
2. BB Cream, I know a lot of people hate on BB cream for some reason but it is honestly the perfect quick, slap on your face & go product. I have been using this specific BB Cream for years now. I like it because it is super light coverage but brightens up your tired mom face. If you're feels optimistic grab your favorite concealer & conceal whatever spots you need coverage on with a damp beauty sponge.(#4) It blends seamlessly when the sponge is damp. You'll also notice you don't need blush because your natural color will still peak through.
3. Mascara & Brows, if you are not born with beautiful full brows & may have been one who over plucked in middle school or high school... brows are a must to make you look ready to go.. Well, in my case it is! Benefit Cosmetics comes in handy! They're Real Mascara for my ridiculously straight lashes & foolproof brow powder for that natural look.

4. Concealer. Lots of concealer. Well, for me anyways!

I conceal my dark AF circles & any pigmentation that needs to be hidden. Nars has been  my ride or die concealer for a couple of years now because I found that it's consistency is perfect to full coverage for those stubborn areas.

5. Setting Powder - If you have oily skin, you know to set your base. If you don't feel it is necessary skip this step & you're set!
